Can A Home Tanning Bed Offer The Same Golden Tan As A Tanning Solarium?

December 31st, 2009 by Wisdom of Beauty

There are 3 big differences between a domestic tanning bed and a commercial bed – pricing, durability and speed. But, the main factor that so many people are choosing to buy their own tanning bed is that they can achieve a golden glow in their own time, and in the comfort of their own homes.

For millions of people worldwide, visiting a tanning solarium is a recurring and expensive task. Furthermore, the entire time that it takes to travel to and from a tanning salon, then getting unclothed and then redressed, can easily slice into your day. This makes a trip to a tanning solarium an exercise that really needs to be planned way ahead of time. And in a lot of cases, a tanning salon will never have any availability when you want it, because most people will want to visit at the most desirable times of the day, like lunch time on work days.

For these reasons, people are seeking alternatives to tanning salons. People just want easiness – they don’t want to be scheduling their whole week around a few trips to the tanning salon. Those that want a consistent tan are now starting to catch on that if there was a tanning alternative that could be performed at home, they would have far more spare time in their schedules.

Saving time isn’t the only reason for seeking alternatives to tanning salons, cost is important too. A visit to a tanning salon is usually in the $15-$30 range. If you start to compute the cost of each tanning salon session, and then factor in the preparation time to get there, to undress, experience your tanning session, then redress and get back home or to work, there is definitely a lot of wasted time and effort. And as the old saying goes, ‘time is money’.

The privacy factor of home tanning beds is just one more major reason that many people are opting to buy their own. For best tanning results it is quite obvious that you will need to be either naked, or nearly *****. Most people will avoid derobing at a tanning solarium because of our genetic tendency for personal privacy. So with a home tanning solution, you get the best of both worlds… a full-bodied golden tan, and the freedom to do it on your time, and with as little or as much clothing as you elect.

But we do need to keep in mind the cost of the at-home option, and we also need to bear in mind the quality of the device. It is easy to assume that having your own tanning bed at home is going to be the perfect solution now that we have prescribed that it will be so a lot more convenient, and that we won’t be wasting so much time and money traveling to and from our local tanning solarium. Buying your own tanning bed can be very costly. You will certainly need to establish that buying a tanning bed is for long term use, and not just another fad.

The home tanning bed is a lot lower in price than the commercial tanning bed because it is constructed in a more economical manner. The common at-home tanning bed would be used once a day, maybe twice a day, whereas in a salon the average bed may be used more than 20 times per day. It’s like comparing a budget iron with a professional steam iron. We all know which one costs less, and we all know which one is suited to 8-10 hours usage a day.

A home tanning bed will naturally be less susceptive to the rigors of a commercial tanning bed, but they are certainly capable of providing a golden tan – completely the same as you would get from a tanning solarium. Commercial tanning beds use a very high-tech lamp system, and so do most domestic ones, meaning that the tanning results will be much the same.

But commercial tanning beds are far more long-lasting and efficient. Like we said above, the typical bed in a tanning solarium could be used more than 20 times per day, so the formation of commercial tanning beds needs to be consistent with such high usage. Furthermore, a commercial bed will most often have far more lamps in it than a domestic tanning bed. A domestic tanning bed will normally have 16 lamps versus around 40 lamps for a commercial bed. The obvious result is that the domestic bed takes longer to achieve the same result.

Home tanning is a gigantic market, and tanning beds/booths are finding their way into more and more homes across the USA. From as little as $50-$60 each month, you can get yourself a top-quality full size home tanning bed – that’s lower in cost than 2 visits to most local tanning salons – and you can use yours in the comfort and easiness of your own home.

Indoor Tanning Faq

December 16th, 2009 by Wisdom of Beauty

“It’s important that you get all of your questions answered and concerns addressed before you begin indoor tanning. This is because indoor tanning is a terrific experience and you want to maximize the pleasure and benefits of it by easing any concerns that you may have. You’ll want to speak with a professional at your chosen indoor tanning salon for full details, but here are the answers to a number of frequently asked questions about indoor tanning:

Is indoor tanning safe?

Yes, if you do it properly. This is one of the most commonly asked questions about indoor tanning because people are aware that there are risks associated with exposure to UV rays from indoor tanning. If you follow proper tanning procedures and use the right tanning lotions and other products, indoor tanning should be at least as safe as outdoor tanning. Since it is in a controlled environment, indoor tanning may even be safer.

What are the benefits of indoor tanning?

In comparison with outdoor tanning, indoor tanning takes less time and gives you a more even tan. Some people also say that indoor tanning is safer, especially if you’re using the right tanning lotions and other products.

Do I need to use indoor tanning lotion?

Yes. Although it won’t be required by your tanning salon, you will want to use indoor tanning lotion. It moisturizes your skin, protects it from the rays and helps to give you an even tan more quickly. Make sure to choose the right indoor tanning lotion for your desired results.

How often should I go to the tanning salon?

This depends on how quickly you want to get a tan. You need to wait 1-2 days between sessions so you’ll go no more than 4 times per week. Many people go 3-4 times per week until they get the desired look and then go 1-2 times per week to maintain that tan.

How long does a tanning session last?

Most people tan for 20-30 minutes during each session. However, this depends on a number of factors so you should work with someone at the salon to determine the right length of time for you.

What should I wear for tanning?

Since you are going to be in the tanning bed alone, you can wear as much or as little clothing as you’d like to get the tan that you want. Many people wear nothing at all to get a full body tan. Others wear their swimsuits since they just want the tan where those on the beach will see them. You will wear eye goggles during indoor tanning to protect your eyes from the rays.

Will I be comfortable at a tanning salon?

Most people find that they are a little bit nervous when they first go to a tanning salon because they don’t know what to expect. This anxiety quickly goes away when they see how comfortable indoor tanning is. Most people who tan relate the experience to going to a spa. You will massage yourself with tanning lotion which will relax you and then you’ll get half an hour of peace and quiet to yourself in the tanning bed. Staff will be on hand to greet you and make the experience more pleasant. Most people find that they are not only comfortable with indoor tanning but that it’s an indulgent experience which they look forward to all week long.”
